IRON Search - Success story from Rodger Knoop of Knoop Implement Company, Traer, IA
I would say Iron Search is still the best sales person that I have , for the lowest amount invested , IE don't pay any benfits what so ever , works 27/7-365 . Don't have to listen to any sales person saying they can't find anyone to purchase products . Never have to tell Iron Search to get out and sell. Just finshed up a sale for a Skid 3/6/08 which he logged on to Iron Search at 8:00 am , came in at 9:30 pm and made the deal , I would never thought this person would have been looking for a unit like he purchased.
Also sold another skid with in a day after putting in on the site he said he saw it on Iron Search , I clicked on my page and found I had one hit on the unit , which was his hit .
I don't know how much more I can say for Iron Search except I can't understand why ALL Imp dealers are not using it. At one time I was also on Tractor House , I had more success on Iron Search . I will stay with Iron Search untill the time I retire from selling Iron .

Thanks to IRON SEARCH, we completed a sale for equipment to be shipped to
BELIZE. We had to wait for a couple of weeks to send the tractor on it's way
due to the hurricanes that hit their area. We made a good connection w/a
grower there & hopefully will be able to ship more due to his satisfication!
THANKS IRON SEARCH!!!!
IRON Search - Success story from Blair Clark of Central Equipment Inc., Truro, NS
The most interesting sale that I've gotten as a result of an IRON Search ad happened about 3 months ago. I received a call from a customer who lived about 400 miles away and she expressed interest in a tractor. The strange thing was that the unit she was interested in was in the background of a photo of a featured tractor and could only be seen off in the distance. It turned out that she spotted this tractor when checking out IRON Search and realized that it was the make and model she was looking for. After a few more calls and e-mails we deliverd the tractor.
This just goes to show that you never know when or how your next sale will turn up. It pays to advertise, even if you sell something you didn't intend to!
IRON Search - Success story from Rodger Knoop of Knoop Implement Company, Traer, IA
Before going with Iron Search I was on a lot of free web pages and I was getting some calls, however, it was taking more time to get updates and etc. online for what I was selling. It took me some time to decide to get on Iron Search with my machines. I first thought the cost for what I was getting was too much. How incorrect I was with my thinking. I have been able to reach more prospects than I ever could making cold calls to my area. I have sold machines in more states than I ever thought I ever would and profits, in most cases was better than selling local.
I am a very small dealer and this has helped very much. I think all dealers should think about using Iron Search.
IRON Search - Success story from Millicent Leppa of Raymore/Yorkton New
Holland, Raymore, SK
I was wanting to update our website - as it was becoming boring and drab.
So, in consultation with our other location - we put our heads together and
came up with a more user friendly web page - but wanted to have all of the
used equipment on this same site as well.
Otherwise, I was updating the IronSearch site, and the other employee was
updating the used equipment our Webpage.
If we could eliminate one - it would save me time updating the IronSearch
site, and this other employee updating the Website of used equipment.
We were able to successfully attach the IronSearch used equipment site
for both of our store locations onto the Raymore and Yorkton New Holland
webpage.
It was so easy - and now our customers and prospective customers can
easily browse our used equipment without leaving our site!
Not only that - but it saved a ton of work - as we no longer have two used
equipment sites to maintain - just IronSearch!
IRON Search - Success story from of Forrester Farm Equipment Ltd., Chambersburg, PA
The sales manager was leaving for Texas and had asked me to add 4 units to iron serch. I was down on the lot and remembered we had just traded 2 really nice compacts so I decided to add them to iron search at the same time. I was pleasently surprised to find the very next morning I had 2 inquiries on both used compacts and sold the one, never even had time to get the 2 tractor through the shop.
IRON Search - Success story from John Helbig of Farm Equipment Sales Inc., Farmington, MO
We had a used Walker lawn mower with the grass catching system on it. Thru Iron Search, we received inquiries from several different states ranging from Florida to New Mexico. Finally, the customer in Farmington, New Mexico drove over to our store in Farmington, MO and purchased the Walker, put it on a trailer and headed back home. Thanks, Iron Search!
IRON Search - Success story from Bob Lano of Lano Equipment Of Norwood Inc,
Norwood, MN
This past week I sold 4 Bobcats and a stump grinder to people in Australia.
They saw them on our website and also 876 Versatile tractor in Georgia.
IRON Search - Success story from Steven E. Stockwell of Nelson Implement &
Chevrolet, Milnor, ND
We had a John Deere 7210 tractor with loader posted (complete with photos)
on IRONSearch. A customer who opperates an outfitting business in MT saw the
ad and told me that this type of unit was hard to find in his area. He
bought it over the phone and didn't even quarrel over our asking price!!
Finding these types of customers has helped us to hold a little better
margin in a business that tends to struggle with margins. I feel that using
IRONSearch has helped us to stay on the cutting edge in a very competetive
field.
IRON Search - Success story from RUSS MORGAN of Bar-Chel Inc, Springville,
NY
Hi my name is Russ I am a salesman at Bar-chel Inc. I started using IRON
Search to get more customers to view our used equipment. It has been a true
money maker for our business. In December 2004 a customer from Nyc called
inquiring on new garden tractor. He found us searching through IRON
Search. He was just looking for some dealership to bid on the equipment they
needed. We are located one hour south of Buffalo and Nyc is about seven hours
one way. One monday morning I woke up and started off delivering Citi Banks
$17,000 Xseries Garden Tractor pkg. At this time I would like to thank IRON
Search for this sale. Thanks Again Russ Morgan sales
IRON Search - Success story from Nate Shattuck of Devon Lane Farm Supply,
Belchertown, MA
What a tremendous all around tool. We have sold many pieces of equipment due
to the exposure this site provides. It is a valuable sales asset. It has
opened the door for a worldwide audience to see our dealership and products.
IRON Search - Success story from Stacie of Valley Tractor, Inc., Chico, CA
I am an employee at Valley Tractor Inc. in Chico, CA. I am in charge of
updating and listing the equipment on IRON Soluitons. At first, we were
leary about listing our equipment online with IRON Solutions. We were
worried about it being to much of a time committment without a high return.
Much to my surprise it was very easy to put listings online and keep them
updated. We have been using the IS site for two months and have received a
ton of hits on our equipment, many inquiries, and have sold some equipment
online. IS is a great way to move used equipment!
IRON Search - Success story from Ray Wieneke of Mark Jacobson Inc, Luverne,

We traded in a JD515 DRILL, as we know drills have been hard to sell lately,
in this area. We put some pictures on IRON SEARCH, within about 3-weeks
we had a call. The person wanted more pictures emailed to him. We emailed
him more. He called me with an offer, that I took, then he asked if I would
deliver it, I asked where to, North pole ALASKA, I knew this must be a prank
call, no pick it up here I said. The day was Dec. 24. Within a week we had a
check for the drill from him ,address North Pole, ALASKA, 99705. By the way,
freight to there was $4300.
IRON Search - Success story from Mike Klingbile of Lennox Equipment Inc,
Lennox, SD
I just got home from delivering a fwa tractor and loader 400 miles away. The
farmer told me he was looking at tractor like mine, but it had some parts
broken/missing and he was searching for repair parts when he came across
"Iron Search" and thought he would see if there was another tractor like
that because it's not a common model. He found mine, which had only a 1000
hours. He was impressed by the quality and accuracy of the pictures. He also
said the site was easy to "surf" and ended up looking at some other
equipment also. Keep up the good work. Yours Truly Mike.
IRON Search - Success story from Don of John Bob Farm Equip., Tisdale, SK
We got a 1991 Gleaner R60 Combine in on trade late this fall. Wondered if it was going to move or not with the weather being so difficult this harvest. I had it posted on "Iron Search " less than two weeks and it SOLD. We had it priced to move but the pic's of the Hours on the unit were the real truth of the machine. Thanks.... Iron Search. Your equipment listing service makes life a lot easier for our dealership.
Success story from Jay Mork of Varpness Implement Inc, Renville, MN
We had a call from Miami FL about a JD 700 4 row planter. Her brother in the Republic of Panama wanted a corn planter and a 4 row. I sent her e mail pictures and explained the condition of the planter. Two days later we had a Fed Ex letter with the funds for the planter and shipping. We sent it to Miami and on a boat to The Republic of Panama and the buyer was very satisfied. Iron Search works.
Success story from David Baxter of Rabe International Inc, Fairmont, MN
We got a call from New York from a guy who was very excited to find an eight
row hyd fold cultivator in his price range, as he said they are very hard to
find in his area. He had seen our IH 183 and was very eager to close the
deal. He was even willing to arrange to get it from here to there. Thanks
Iron Search!
Success story from Phil Read of Read Bros. Inc., Henry, IL
I sold a hard to sell tractor to a customer over 260 miles away in a
neighboring state. I added a few more pictures to the web listing and he
bought it without seeing it in person. The customer says he will be
watching our site for a good combine in the near future.
Success story from Gary Lovelace of Ag Sales, Arcata, CA
We had a old John Deere Flail Chopper in our yard for years and we pretty
much considerd it scrap, we ended up selling it to a guy in Hawaii, that saw
it on our web site and thought it was perfect to use in his sugar cane
fields.
Success story from jeff Suchomski of Suchomski Equipment Inc, Pinckneyville,

We have a story every day. It works! It helps us move equipment to all parts
of the country. Last week we sold a used Vermeer rake close to Kansas City.
This week we have two people fighting over a $1000 used no-till drill, one
in Pennsylvania and the other in Kentucky. I enjoy the interaction with
people from all over the country. And Ironsearch works great.
Success story from Darrell Bader of Carrico Implement Company Inc, Beloit,
KS
Since we started listing our equipment on Iron Search it has opened doors
and brought in business we wouldn't have dreamed of! We have noticed that we
have been selling items that we no longer had a market for here at home.
We've sold equipment all over the united states to include Alaska, Canada,
Mexico, and even oversea's. It puts your equipment in front of a huge
audience which gives you a greater opportunity to sell it! If you aren't
listing your equipment on Iron Search, you're missing a lot of sales!
Success story from Jason Flieg of Flieg's Equipment Inc, Ste Genevieve, MO
Dear Iron Search
We have been on iron search for several years and we very pleased with the
results. We sold a grain drill in Utah that normally would not sell in our
area; we also had a 20-foot mintill drill that is not a product that we sell
at all anymore, it went to Michigan. Iron search has been a great success
for us, we update it regularly and we have customers that say they check it
weekly, because they don't have time to come to see our inventory or live to
far away. We also sold a Massey tractor in Nebraska because the customer
was looking exactly for the tractor we had listed. We would not have sold
this tractor for premium dollar if we had not listed it.

Success story from Bill De Jong of DeJong Equipment Company Inc, Beecher, IL
We had a Killbros Center Dump Box sitting in our lot for over three years
with no leads on it. Then I got a call from Wisconsin from Dave Woodworth,
and he said he had found our dealership on IronSearch. He linked to our
website from Iron Search, and gave us a call about the Kill Bros Box.
Needless to say, he bought the Box, thanks to Iron Search!
Success story from Ed Nowak of Arnold Implement Inc, North Mankato, MN
Hello again Iron Search, I have another success story:
I just had a customer thank me for putting my equipment on Iron search.
Last Saturday I entered a Glencoe 7400 13 shank soil on our site. On Sunday
after church John & Kevin from Thorp Wi.{about 250 miles from us} were
looking on the internet and my unit showed up. They said they really
appreciated going to the net to look for equipment instead of spending their
Sunday spreading publications all over the coffee table looking for
equipment.
They also appreciated the pictures of the unit. They could see a wheel hub
had been replaced and some welding had been done. They said this saved them
allot of time instead of traveling and looking at equipment.
They drove over yesterday and spent a couple minutes looking at the unit
and we made the deal.
This was when they "Thanked Me" for using Iron Search!! Boy that sure
makes you feel good for the time you spend keeping the site current.
Iron search "Thank You" for your help.
ps I have a customer coming up from southern Iowa today to look at a IH
1480 combine
...
Since I e-mailed you this morning my farmer from southern
Iowa showed up and bought the IH 1480 and I also sold a 2000 CaseIH 25'
platform to another dealer in Alberta Canada. Had a good day from Iron
Search.
Success story from Don Lund of Lund Implement Company, Madison, MN
I had a Glencoe Power Ditcher for sale for two years and didn't have a bite on it at
all. Then when I listed it on IRON Search, I received a call from a guy
in Sioux City, IA, over 200 miles away. He asked what shape it was in and
asked the price. He said he would be up that day to look at it. He came up
to see it, loaded it in his pickup, paid the asking price, and took it
home.
Success story from Apple Farm Service, Inc. Botkins, Ohio
In three days we saw a return on our initial investment in signing up with IRON Solutions. One of the first units we posted was a German made JD 4435 combine. In 2 days an e-mail came through, and on the 3rd day the combine and 2 heads were sold to a customer in Pennsylvania. This all came about when a customer wanted to use this combine as a trade on the purchase of a new tractor W/ Loader (NH TN75S). We didn't want the trade but said we'd help him sell the combine on commission. So in the end, we were able to write the order for the new tractor and loader, and the combine was on the way to PA.
Success story from Brian Davis of Johnson Tractor Inc, Janesville, WI
The best success story that I can come up with is keep your list updated at
least once a week, take time to take a great photo, not just a photo but one
that can easily be viewed. A clear photo on a bright day of the machine not
of the sky or the ground. This has been working great for our dealership. We
sell quite a few machines from the website and it does take an effort of
good photography, excellent descriptions of the pieces and the more info the
better.
Success story from John J. Nutzman of K & R Equipment Inc, West Point, NE
Prospect saw our 2-180 White tractor on the internet, called, came and
looked at it and wrote the check on the spot. Sale took place within 4 days
of initial contact. That's a great way to move a used piece.
Success story from ED NOWAK of Arnold Implement Inc, North Mankato, MN
IRON Search really works.
I had a gentleman from Illinois call me on a used CASEIH 9150 4WD TRACTOR
that he saw on IRON Search. We talked for 10 or so minutes and I knew he was
interested because it was on his dime. He said he would be in touch in a
couple days. At that point I didn't know if I would hear from him again.
Well two days later he showed up and looked at the tractor. I gave him the
no trade price and the deal was done.
This doesn't happen everyday but it would have not happened at all if we
were not involved with IRON Search. It has happened to us now 3 times since
we have been on line. We haven't been on line a year yet.
It is definately worth it.
Success story from Mike Budach of Budach Implement Inc, New Richland, MN
We had a Gallenberg rock picker that we've used on our own farm just a
couple of times. It's a very unique piece of equipment. It worked great
for what we needed it for. We've had it in storage for a couple of years
now and really didn't know what to do with it because the market for this
type of equipment in this area is very small. So we decided to list it on
our website with Iron Solutions. Well low and behold if we didn't have a
guy call us from Jacksonville Florida about it. It's exactly what he's been
looking for so we made a deal and now we are shipping his newly purchase
Gallenberg rock picker we sold him. There's no way we would have sold this
rock picker located in Minnesota to a gentleman located in Florida without
Iron Solutions.
Success story from Dennis Nipper of Agri-Service Inc., Twin Falls, ID
On the 22nd of January I received some email inquiries on some used swathers
that we have listed. I emailed back to this customer that day, right at the
end of day. In the email I told the customer a little about each unit and
invited him to come and see the units. The customer lived about 250 miles
form our dealership. The next morning, I had a voice mail message on my
cell phone that this customer was coming to see me to look and the swathers.
A few hours later they showed up. We went out on the lot at are main store
and look at couple of machines. Then we went to two more of our stores near
by and looked at few more units. By the end of the day we had the customer
purchasing a Hesston 6600 swather. I really believe that Iron Search helped
driving this customer to us. Thank you for the program.
In the last two months, I have had 4 deals that I have closed due to the
Internet contacts.
Success story from Brett Ward of McLean Implement Inc, Albion, IL
I posted two tractors on the evening of Jan 13, 2003. I checked to see how
many times that they had been looked at the next morning at 8:00 A.M. One
had been looked at 16 times and a few minutes later the phone was ringing
wanting to know about the other one. The customer had seen it on ironsearch.
Talk about fast. The customer that called was from over 300 miles away.
Success story from Karen of Valley Equipment Supply, Inc., PA
Just a note to let you know that we have been very satisfied with the responses we've received with ironsearch.com.
In the space of just a few weeks, we placed a John Deere 240 skidsteer on ironsearch.com and sold it to a fellow in Ohio within less than two weeks. We placed an Oliver 1755 on ironsearch.com and had a check in the mail within a two or three week period after advertising it. And about the same time we advertised Hesston 1340 haybine which we delivered within a few weeks to Maryland to a gentleman who was pleased with our product and service. A relationship was cultivated. He came to our store in Central PA, visited with us and negotiated a price on a new New Idea manure spreader. Just a few weeks ago we delivered it to him. At this rate, the time and investment has been well worth it.
Thank you for the service you provide to the end user as well as to the dealer. Bringing the two of us together should bring you great pleasure!
Success story from Brian of Wayde's Equipment Co., Steelville, MO
I listed a M&W round baler that we had for a couple of weeks on a Thursday.
the baler had not even got many looks on our lot. On Friday a customer from
around Mobile, Alabama came and bought this baler after finding it on Iron
Search. Mobile is about 800 miles away from Steelville, Mo. Iron Search is
great and sells alot of equipment for us. Thank You very much.
Success story from brad gering of Freeman Implement Inc, Freeman, SD
Two weeks after we got our web site up and running we got a e-mail on a hesston 4600
baler that we had on the lot for over a year. After several phone conversations and a
couple of e-mails this customer drove 1600 miles from Bend, Oregon to Freeman, SD to
pick up this baler.
Success story from Greg Meints of Wells Implement Inc, Plymouth, NE
This last spring (2002) we had a used 6 row White planter in inventory. We
had it advertised locally and weren't having much luck selling it. I had
priced it to a few customers at 10 percent off of our advetised price, but
this still didn't seem to help. I recieved a inquiry from Montana and sold
it for the advertised price! This was 10 percent more than I was willing to
sell it locally! Thanks for Iron Search making these type of deals possible!
Success story from Larry Stauffer of Humboldt Implement Company, Humboldt,
NE
I am the CaseIH dealer in Humboldt, Nebraska which is in the southeast part of Nebraska and I traded for a 1084 cornhead against my better judgement because we only have two or three customers who are wide row. After getting it on the Iron/Dealer web site, I had a call from Central Illinois from a farmer who had saw it, took it into to his dealer and they called and we got together. My local machinery hauler hauled it to Rock Island and they came and picked it up there. Larry A Stauffer, Humboldt Implement Company
Success story from Cindy Osgood of R.S. Osgood & Sons, East Dixfield, ME
We sold a used Kubota B21 Landscape Tractor-Loader-Backhoe to a new customer who found us through Iron Search. Even though they were in the state of Maine and only 100 miles away, they had never heard of us before. (And we advertise quite heavily through newspaper, radio and cable tv - even Uncle Henrys which is the premier source for used "everything" in Maine & New Hampshire) We corresponded via email for a week or so and then met them in person when they came to our store and finalized the deal. We moved the tractor in less than 6 weeks and gained exposure where advertising hadn't reached.
Success story from Tom Young
Walsh Equipment Inc.
Prospect, PA
We've used IRON Search in conjunction with our AGCO/Massey Ferguson website for about a year now. We have had a considerable amount of inquiries on our used pavers and some on used tractor mowers. We are located in Western PA, and have had some inquiries from Texas, New York, New Jersey and Virginia. HOWEVER, I can't say that we sold a piece of equipment as a direct result of the web ad. It does make potential customers aware of our presence, and we're hopeful that will eventually lead to increased local sales. I'm just not real sure that buying and selling equipment, especially used, to out of area customers will work. We'll see!
Success story from John McClelland
Hess Farm Equipment
Canton, PA
I'm not sure the website has increased traffic much. I do know that a lot of our customers have seen our site and made comment of it. We have sold a few pieces of equipment because of the site and IRON Search. We just got a digital camera about a week ago. Since then the traffic on the sight and the phone calls and E-mails have increased dramatically. I would highly recommend putting pictures with your equipment if you do list with IRON Search. I expect the number of pieces sold to go up now. We have also had some luck selling parts because of the website. It's usually an inquiry about a part followed by a phone call. I anticipate trying more things in this area.
Success story from Wendell Walldroff
Walldroff Farm Equipment Inc.
Watertown, NY
We have had some luck selling the hard to find pieces via the web and IRON Search. We really have just started using the web and IRON Search ourselves. Once we get everything up and running I see where it would be a good investment.
Success story from Jim Munroe
Monroe Tractor & Implement Co. Inc.
Henrietta, NY
We decided to use IRON Search for several reasons: It was sponsored by the dealers Association, therefore we thought many dealers would use it creating a super search site. All our sales are automatically reported to the Association. We attached it to our website making it unnecessary to have an in house used list. Our salesmen use the IRON Search listings. It has not created a large amount of new traffic. We have many requests for information but few give a phone number so we can follow up to qualify them. Many current customers do visit the site and comment on different used pieces available. We have sold several units to out of area inquiries but nothing large. The website does show its worth based on customer responses and comments.
Success story from Joey Yohn
Lost Creek Implement
Oakland Mills, PA
We have had a lot of calls on our equipment listings. We have sold a few pieces thru the site. Is it worth it? We think so, but it is a lot of work keeping your listings up-to-date.
Success story from Kirt Morris

Increased Store Traffic…NO, the people in our area know us and they come in website or not. Increased exposure out of our area, YES! We have had people as far away as Wisconsin inquire about equipment. (That customer actually wanted to purchase, but by the time he sent his final e-mail the unit had been sold). Over the last seven days, 249 people have viewed a listing on our web site. This year (2002) three pieces have been sold that would not have been sold if not for the website. We are impressed with the exposure that our equipment is getting, an average of 4.98 hits per piece of equipment.
Success story from Tony

Yes we have sold some equipment and are very happy.
Success story from Roger A. Boulay
Catskill Tractor

We've only been on IS for a month. We've been pleasantly surprised at the 'hits' we've had so far and actually had a retail sale as a result. The timing of this ties directly with us having a website set up, we have found customers and prospects using it. As our experience goes so far, I would recommend it.
Success story from Jay Martin
Lawn Care Equipment Center LLP
Martindale, PA
We started with our MF site http://www.lcequip.com, from this site I know we sold at least 1 or 2 new tractors this past year. I heard responses like "I was looking on the net and came across your site and got in contact with you." The other local dealers don't have as nice a site or no site that a customer on the MF site can link to. We then added the used equipment on our MF site. We sold at least 3 or 4 items this past year from it. I know they wouldn't have bought without our site because they were from out of the area. Plus I know of more that I can't think of right now. Our third move was setting up our site at http://www.50below.net/lawncareequipment/ and also adding IRON Search. The IRON Search produces more hits then the used equipment on our MF site.
Success story from Neil Follett
Goodrich Implement Inc.
Johnson City, NY
We increased inquiries immediately. Actual sales took longer, site helped to draw more 20-50 mile prospects due to brand awareness by our website. The used listings again took longer, but are now producing some good looks outward of 200 miles. I don't usually reply to inquiries outside of NY or PA except for antique tractor leads. We are happy at this point. We also understand that we need to update more often.
Success story from Robert Freeman
Randall Implement Company Inc.
Fultonville, NY
We have had the site a year this summer, we have had thousands of hits and a few sales until the last few months. I answer e-mails every am and pm and we have sold a number of pieces mostly to part timers or sundowners. If the farmer is using it to shop they are not telling us.
Success story from Rod Perilli

I do not see an increase in store traffic, but we have sold products due to the website and mainly IRON Search listings.
Success story from gary lovelace of Ag Sales, Arcata, CA
IRONsearch has helped us move the used equipment that we thought we were just stuck with. We had a old 16 John Deere chopper that was here for years. A customer saw our website and equipment listing. Bought it and shipped it to Hawaii.
Success story from Carl Carlson of Edmonton New Holland Ltd., Spruce Grove, AB
WE have sold a number of pieces thru IRONsearch, but the most unusual was
a call from Tennesee. It seems this farmer knew something about NH bale wagons
but they had never been sold in their area. He saw a 1033 on our web site.
We conversed back & forth on e-mail and by phone. He got measurements, etc. to
build a hayshed (something we take for granted). He ended up buying our
bale wagon for $5900 and paid frieght of $3300 . He now has his wagon & loves
it. Seems they have been using hand labor til now but loves the independence
this machine gives. I now have a follow up call to make next time in
Tennessee!
Success story from Scott Darnell of Roberts Farm Equipment Company, Lebanon, IN
One of the owners at the store had a John Deere 4 row wide cultivator that
he didn't need any more. In the state of Indiana or any where else in the
midwest you can't even give one of those things away. A customer called on
April 1 stating that he had seen the cultivator advertised on IRONsearch
for $500 and was interested, he really wanted two of these machines. After
consulting with the owner he told me of another customer that had a mate
to the one listed. I called the buyer back and told him what I had
available and he bought both cultivators for the price I wanted and came to
pick them both up at the store the next day. That made 3 people very happy
and did I mention that the cultivators went to North Carolina. That is a
market we would never have tapped without IRONsearch.
Success story from Shawn Skaggs of Livingston Machinery Co., Chickasha, OK
Since I started in sales at Livingston Machinery last February, one of my
responsibilities has been to keep our IRONsearch listings current. This has
always been a great way to generate interest from customers long distances
away in our new and used equipment. We have actually generated a lot of
sales through our website and IRONsearch listings, some we don't even
realize were generated through the internet. I'd like to share one
particular story with you about how IRONsearch has helped us to keep our
used iron moving. This January I got an email response to one of our
IRONsearch listings on a John Deere 4890 windrower that was traded in for a
Hesston. I immediately picked up the phone and told the gentleman about our
machine and he had me put a few more pictures on the site. In return he
emailed me photos of his trade in machines. In a matter of a week we sent
the machine to him and picked up his trade ins. All this occurred without
him having to drive the 750 miles to our store and without me having to
travel to him until we delivered the machine and signed contracts. The
following week one of his neighbors puchased another used 4890 from me, but
this time without a trade involved. And the IRONsearch website basically
did all the hard work for me. As the agricultural community moves into the
information age, there is no other advertising tool out there that can give
you the kind of exposure IRONsearch has provided us. It has also served as
a great tool for us to communicate inventory between our two stores.
I would highly recommend IRONsearch
to other dealers looking to expand their sales territory and communicate to
a broader range farmers. Thanks IRONsearch.
Success story from Steve McLaughlin of McLaughlin Equipment Inc, Cheney, KS
We live in Kansas and I had a customer from California contact me about a 5
ft. threepoint disk we had on IRONsearch. He bought it and we shiped it to
him. The freight was more than the disk cost but he wanted it anyway. We
have sold several items this way. We sent a chipper to New England. We sold
a tractor in Arizona and a tractor in New Mexico all from seeing it on Iron
Search.
Success story from Larry Hilworth of Maple Farm Equipment, Yorkton, SK
Just when we think it slows down, alive come the enquiries from our IRON
Search listings. This past week we have marketed, 3 four wheel drive
tractors, 2 - row crop tractors, a used airseeder, a set of used drills all
as a result of our IRONsearch listings. And, we are still trying to close
some of the other enquiries. We are on other sites, but have to say the
greatest success we have had to date is with IRONsearch.
Success story from Andy Wiebe of Keystone Agri Motive, Steinbach, MB
I have found that the internet is a very useful tool and IRONsearch is a
great way to find equipment.
We had a shortline dealer from England contact us regarding some equipment
that we have listed on the internet and he had a custmer for a rock picker
that we had. He was looking for a high lift rock picker for a customer of
his that lived in Northern Ireland. After some extra photos emailed to him
and several telephone conversations along with a few emails assuring him
that the rockpicker we had would do the job for him, we were able to make
the sale. We also put the rockpicker in our shop and had our technician
inspect it just to make sure we would have a happy customer. A local freight
co. picked up the rockpicker, we loaded it into the container and it was
gone. We had the funds for the purchase wired to us. Worked great. Customer
is happy.
Success story from Ken Kahler of Shearer Ag Center, Chillicothe, MO
Sold two used tractors in one day by using IRONsearch ads. We are recieving
many more phone calls and e-mails on our used equipment because of your
site. The boss was aprehensive of using website listings and justifying the
cost of computers in general, but he's convinced now!
Success story from Bob Cremer of Pioneer Garage Inc., Highmore, SD
We had a CIH 7130 that we had loaded on IRONsearch the week previous. A
customer from Iowa called and was interested in the tractor. Although he
liked the price, he was more interested in the pictures and the details that
we had listed. He had to mail me pictures of his trade, but we did the deal
sight unseen, and we have both been satisfied. The information is nice, but
the pictures close the sale. IRONsearch is going to be our major on-line
tool.
Success story from Bill Hesse of Hesse's Inc., Crofton, NE
We had a 1644 Case-IH combine posted on IRONsearch site. A dealer from Pa.
called and we e-mailed pictures to him. He took the combine, in addition he
bought a 1063 cornhead, a 1020 20 fr platform and a new carryover 1864 Cub
Cadet that we had carried over for 5 YEARS! The semi was full!
Success story from Stacy L Hensley of Greentown Equipment Inc., Greentown, IN
We are located in Indiana and thanks to IRONsearch we sold a planter to a
customer in Idaho. He saw our listing on our website and called us and we
emailed some more pictures to him and bought it. Thank you for your help and
have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Success story from Tom Stookey of Mascoutah Equipment, Mascoutah, IL
Since we went with IRONsearch, we have sold a combine that went to Georgia, a
mower to Ohio, a chisel plow to Kentucky and a sprayer to Tennessee. We put
as many pictures with the equipment as possible and that really helps sell
the equipment.
Success story from Roger Apple of M & S Implement, Equality, IL
We have had good success with our IRONsearch listings. We have sold well
outside our normal area with IRONsearch and also unique units. We sold a
John Deere backhoe that had the ring gear and pinion out of it via IRON
Search in the as is condition. We also sold a used Wilmar self-propelled
sprayer to an individual in the state of Oregon. Reaching either of these
prospects would have been very difficult if not impossible without the reach
that IRONsearch provides. We have paid for the expense of our IRONsearch
listing and web site with those 2 sales alone.
Success story from Eric Mannetje of Earth Power Tractors, Stayner, ON
We have been with Iron
Search for over a year now, and also a firm beliver in Iron Manager and Ag
Quote Pro. We had some inventory that wasn't moving, so from our profiled
customers I created a list and target marketed to these profiled customers.
To create the list of equipment I wanted to spec out to these select people,
I used Iron Manager's finder report and printed off a ad layout sheet to
direct mail. One mailing was for tractors and the other was for tillage
equipment. Within 2 days of the mailing [snail mail], I received a
telephone call around 10:30pm and sold a tractor. The following night, at
10:30pm, I sold a 29' cultivator as well. Both units were in paid inventory.
There have been several others since those first ones, but I was impressed
at how quick it happened. Both customers are big belivers in IRONsearch as
well as are we. Big thanks for your awesome products. As a dealer, it's helping us to move
equipment and as an indivdual, I'll be surprised if everyone isn't using
it. Your tech support is #1. In other words, you guys "RULE".
Success story from Brian Edgar of Wayde's Equipment Co., Steelville, MO
I listed a used round baler on this site and the next day someone from
Alabama, over six hundred miles away, called and bought it. When asked how
he heard about it he said that he had found it on IRONsearch. After that I
sold five more pieces of equipment within days after listing them with IRON
Search. Isn't technology wonderful!
Success story from Dustin Perilli of M & R Power Equipment, Hermitage, PA
We have been online for only 2 months and we received a call from a man in
West Virginia on a piece of equipment. He was calling for directions to our
dealership in mid-western Pennsylvania. He also bought more equipment once
after he got there.
Success story from J. R. Riegel of McLaughlin Equipment Inc., Cheney, KS
I would like to tell you folks that we at McLaughlin Equipment Inc. are new
to Iron Dealer, but so far very pleased with the ease of entering equipment
and the results after only 1 week we have had over 150 hits on our equipment
listed. The system is very easy to use and we know that we are reaching
customers and dealers more effectively.
Success story from Jason Flieg of Flieg's Equipment Inc., Ste. Genevieve, MO
We are a CaseIH and Agco dealer, we have not had good success with the
equipment search engines we have tried until now.
We still have our Agco site as this was a one time charge and I still do not
get a lot of response but I am happy with what they offer. When the IRON
Search salesman stopped by I was very negative. I did not believe it would
work at all just as the other ones we had tried did not work.
I would like to thank Ken for keeping in touch with us because Dave, my boss
did agree to try it. We put our used equipment on the site in December and
we had over one thousand hits in three months. We have sold two used
tractors off the IRONsearch site and had a ton of e-mail questions.
I am very happy with the outcome.
Success story from Deike Implement Company, Waverly IA
IRONsearch is expanding my used sales more than I could of dreamed. High
dollar sales to other states; New York, Tenn., Michigan and more. I am not
discounting my equipment for these retails, generally, more profitable
without trades. Pictures of equipment and updating records a must. This is
not time wasted. Also I find this a special tool for values of equipment.
Yes, I got sales!
Success story from Larry Hilworth,
Mgr. Marketing of Maple Farm Equipment, Yorkton SK
We have been on Iron Web
for only a few months. In the past week, because of IRONsearch, we have been
able to market a Beline applicator to South Dakota, a cultivator to Salmon Arm
BC, a used JD High Clearance sprayer to Manitoba, and we are currently pricing
2 used stone-pickers to Pennsylvania. Does it work, you be the judge, approx.
$200,000 of business this past week - none of which we would have garnered without
IRONsearch. Thanks IRONsearch...you made our sales quotas last week....
Success story from Tony Schaffner of Ritenour Equipment Center
We sold our first used tractor (listed on IRONsearch) to a guy in New York about 3 hours away
thanks to IRONsearch. He said he had searched through a lot of sites, but the ability
to look over pictures of the equipment and email us with no headaches persuaded him to
buy from our dealership. Thank you IRONsearch!
Success story from Ty Lewis of Bullen's Inc., North Logan UT
Another New Holland Dealer 800 miles away from us found our 1998 N H Backhoe
on the Internet and told their long time customer about our backhoe. Their customer
called us and bought it from us. That’s a dealer who takes care of his customer
- even when he doesn't have what the customer needs.
Success story from Patrick VanOostrum of J.G. VanOostrum Farm Equip., Port
Williams NS
We had a fairly new, round baler that we had recently taken on trade, but probably
had to much money tied up in it. We didn't want to lose, this customer to the
competition. After putting it on the IronWeb, another Case IH dealer in the
US noticed it, bought it, and of course resold it for a profit. After the whole
deal washed out actually, it really was a decent deal. Hopefully, we can get
more inquiries from the US, as the exchange rate is to their advantage. Our
dealership has had 9 sales of used equipment directly from the Internet, mostly
into the United States.
Success story from Burke McCormick
of Service Supply Inc., Cut Bank MT
I am a NH dealer in Montana. I have been on the Iron Web for 3 years now. I
have sold 15 to 20 units over the web. It has helped us get connected too buyers
all over the country. I sell only used on my web site and it is FOB our store.
To do it right you need a Sony Mavica digital camera. With it you can email
more pictures of items that someone is interested in. That is very important
in this process; it is what makes it work. The Iron Web gives you a much larger
customer base to sell those items that won't move in your area. I liked it so
much we thought about Quote Pro, Guides 2000 and Ag Appraiser. I felt that they
must be good products also. We did buy them and I'm not looking back. It to
is a great product. You have to be willing to take your time and learn it, there
is a lot going on in this program. It has saved me a lot of paper work and combined
4 processes into one. Once you get used to using it you don't want to be without
it. Well worth the money.
Success story from Andy Wiebe of Keystone Agri-Motive,Steinbach, MB
We put our equipment on
this web site and have received enquiries right from the start.
I have been fairly pleased with our site. I was contacted through IRONsearch,
from a fella in Fairbanks Alaska, on a 1486 IHC that I displayed on the list
on our website. After e-mailing a couple of times we got together on the telephone
and came to an agreement. The tractor is on its way to Fairbanks at this moment.
Success story from John R. Hammes of Jefferson County Equipment Inc., Fairfield,
IA
Sold a JD 875 cultivator to a customer over 350 miles away with IRONsearch.
Got our price and customer came and picked up.
Success story from Gary of Ag Sales, Arcata, CA
Since I have had the web site I have moved more of the boat anchor equipment (dead stock).
Success story from Keith Shirakawa of Hanlon Ag Centre Ltd., Lethbridge AB
At first, I was always wondering if the Internet was the way to increase sales
at our dealership, but since we started up with IRONsearch it has been nothing
but a success. We started right away with a decent digital camera and I believe
that this camera has paid for itself and then some. Our first piece of equipment
was sent to the Grande Prairie area and all it took was about 6 photos e-mailed
to this fellow and in two days it was sold. The good thing about selling over
the internet is the customers are purchasing the unit as is , you can arrange
the trucking, or they will themselves, and payment is upfront. I strongly recommend
the internet as just another avenue for us to retail units and give us the ability
to move more and more used equipment
Success story from Randy of Grande Equipment Ltd., Grande Prairie, AB
In late May 99, we took a set of JD No-Till drills on trade. I put them on the
iron-web thinking we'll be sitting on these till next spring. Shortly after
listing them I received a call from a flood ravaged, farmer in the Weyburn area
who had yet to seed a kernel of grain. He spotted them on the iron web and was
certain they were the only seeding tool that would work in the abnormally wet
conditions he was facing. I used our digital camera to quickly send him some
close-up photos and within 36 hours we had the money wired to our account and
the drills were loaded on our truck for the 1700km trip. Without iron-web and
a digital camera these units would have sat for another year. .I'm sold on the
concept. Just last week we sold another small tractor into Ohio. Thanks.
Success story from Murray Kasun of Northwest Tractor, Ltd., Leask SK
I had several used pieces of equipment that i had inquires about through the
internet. the customers contacted me via e-mail about the units. we
corresponded through e-mail regarding prices, options, previous owners, etc.
( the digital camera i used for pictures is a must) the deals were realized
and the funds were transferred electronically. a trucking company was
selected to haul to units (these were units that were sold out of province
or state). as a result i moved these units faster than i would have in my
local market at the prices i was asking. i don't prefer to sell equipment
without ever meeting the customer but i have no complaints the end result of
these deals. I would have to say that deals wouldn't have happened without
my iron-web listing.
Success story from Eddie Sagal of Sagal Bros. Sales Ltd., Moose Jaw SK
Earlier this spring, we listed a Flexicoil #65S sprayer with Iron Solutions.
It was one of our first listings. We got an inquiry from Ontario, and we
quickly closed the deal. A week later, a truck and the money arrived.
We made a respectable margin on the deal, but the real plus was that
a week later, the customer ordered $1,500.00 of stainless steel booms!
Success story from Ron Wilder of Bode Implements Ltd., Moose Jaw SK
We sold a Case-IH flex header to a gentleman that actually ended up being
only 8 miles away. The customer thought it was great to be able to look for
equipment and not have to leave his home. He says he is going to start
using the internet a lot more now.
